In Your Case 005 - May 2024 - Fashion / Tech / Lifestyle by Kuori

Met Gala: A garden of celebrities in futuristic fantasy dresses

The Met Gala 2024 shone in all its splendor! This pinnacle fashion event took place on May 6th at the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art, which inaugurated its new exhibition: Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

This showcase explores how technology can revitalize old and fragile garments. Attendees walked the famous steps in outfits inspired by this year's theme, 'The Garden of Time.' This dress code, based on J.G. Ballard's story, where a count slows time by cutting a rose to protect his castle, inspired floral and tech-fashion outfits with touches of Sleeping Beauty.

Among the standout looks this year were Camila Cabello's ice handbag by Jane Wade, singer Tyla's sand dress by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain, and Doja Cat with her wet t-shirt dress. At Kuori, we can't help but think about how we could complete each look with one of our cases and accessories, especially with the recent arrival of our new drop botanic.

The new Chat GPT is here, with 'o' for 'omni

OpenAI launched GPT-4o on May 13th, promising to revolutionize human-computer interaction.

With free access for all users, this new model accepts text, audio, and image inputs, and generates equally versatile outputs. In the coming weeks, GPT-4o will be integrated into OpenAI's products. Among its innovative features, it stands out for its ability to read facial emotions, guide breathing exercises, tell stories, and solve mathematical problems. Additionally, it offers simultaneous translations and handles complex mathematical operations. The launch of GPT-4o precedes the highly anticipated presentation of Google Gemini, which will compete with ChatGPT in the realm of artificial intelligence. Which one will be the most efficient? We'll let you know after we hear what GPT and Gemini think about our bestsellers.

h2>Deleted photos resurrect from the past due to an iOS bug

Apple recently released iOS 17.5, bringing features like app downloads from the web, a new Podcasts widget, and improvements to FaceTime and the Find My app. However, it seems that these updates have come with a bug that resurrects photos deleted years ago. There are cases of photos deleted in 2010 reappearing on the device! For now, Apple has not confirmed the issue or announced a solution. We'll be keeping an eye out for further information. So far, it hasn't happened to us. How about you? Speaking of photos... If you want a phone case with your best photos, take a look at Movie Life or Framed.
